About the Independent OversIght CommIttee


The role of the Citizens Oversight Committee is to actively monitor school construction costs and inform the public on the proper expenditure of Measure W funds.


Committee members are responsible for ensuring that bond monies are spent only for their specified purpose— namely the building or renovation of high schools, classrooms, labs or educational facilities.


The Oversight Committee consists of seven or more persons, including two members of the general public and one representative from each of the following:

• A Member of a taxpayer organization
• A Member of senior citizens organization
• A Member of a local business organization
• A Parent or Guardian of a high school student
• A High School Parent who is active in the local PTA


Employees, vendors or contractors of the Antelope Valley High School District CANNOT serve on the Oversight Committee.
